Agile Overview

Agile Scrum is an iterative approach to software development which ideally addresses all aspects of the typical project lifecycle (Plan, Analyze, Design, Build, Test, and if applicable Deploy) in each iteration, called a “Sprint”.

The main goal of utilizing Agile Scrum for solution development is to harness Agile principles to provide increased business visibility into solution development, flexibility to respond to changes in business requirements or needs, and rapid delivery of prioritized, working parts or features of the solution for earlier realization of business value.

Adopting Agile requires more than just following a different set of project steps.  It also requires changes in mindset and culture. It requires thinking about and doing things differently.   At the highest level, this means adopting the principles in the Agile Manifesto.
